"I just finished up a stint of being an adult with braces, and I must say that the team at Hanis and Stevenson made it as pleasant as possible under the circumstances. The front office staff, including the incredibly kind and sweet Miss Mary J, always remembered me, my children, what was going on in my life at my last visit, etc, etc, etc. They even helped to entertain my little guy who came with me to all of my appointments from age 3 months to about one and half. My oldest son loves all of the video game machines he can play while he waits for me :)I have never had to wait more than 3 or 4 minutes for my appointment, which is incredibly important to me, but they have also never once rushed through my appointment. They have jumped through many hoops to work with me on a weird situation with my teeth and have stayed through lunch to help me on more than one occasion.The assistant (I may be using an incorrect job title here; I would normally just call her The Amazing Dana) that normally works on my mouth is fantastic. She is kind, personable, remembers every tiny detail about my dental situation, and is incredibly good at her job. I actually miss seeing her now that my braces are off!Dr. Hanis has worked with me from the start, and I would recommend him to anyone who is in the market for an orthodontist. He has done many, many things for me that I'm sure weren't technically covered in what I paid originally, but he has always been very accommodating. He is clearly a perfectionist, which is exactly who I want working on my teeth.I have a feeling that it won't be very long before I am again writing a check for braces, this time for my son, and I can guarantee it will be to Hanis and Stevenson.Their employees clearly love what they do, and it absolutely shows. This has been a first class experience. If you're looking for a good orthodontist, just go ahead and call them. You'll see the difference immediately.2024 update: both of my sons have now gone through braces with the fabulous team at Hanis and Proft. Many of the same staff members are there a whole decade after they started taking care of my family, and they are still as kind and patient as ever. I have recommended this practice to many friends and family and Will continue to do so!2026 update: my kid just started his final phase of ortho, and Dr. Hanis and his team still have the same welcoming vibe and a smooth-running operation. Jen took the time to sit and patiently answer approximately 157 questions, and I really enjoyed getting to know her. I promise I don't work here or get paid for reviews- I am just continually impressed by this group!"

"Hanis Orthodontics has been great with my daughter. At 7 years old she was very nervous about a pallet expander and then braces especially after a bad experience with a prior dentist. Everyone in the office helped her feel comfortable and explain what was going to happen every step of the way so her fear didn’t grow because of the unknown. She just got her first round of braces off and her smile is amazing and we know we did the hard work to ensure her permanent teeth have the room needed to come in."
"Love this orthodontist practice! Super friendly staff. Dr. Hanis seems to really care about helping his patients and is very knowledgeable about more complicated cases. Julie the coordinator was fantastic at helping us navigate the plan for some extensive orthodontic work for my son. Communication between this office and our surgeon was spot on and flawless.The office is very modern and clean and they have coffee of all kinds available while you wait and an arcade for the kids. Can't say enough great things about this practice!Update: January 12, 2026 This team is phenomenal! My son just got his braces removed and his teeth look amazing. "Switched to Hanis and Proft Orthodontics for phase 2 braces for my son after our previous orthodontist treated us like a burden. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but Dr. Proft was so welcoming and informative and even gave my son a new retainer before we even committed so he wouldn’t be uncomfortable. They’ve included me on every detail, something my last ortho refused to do, and I have to say I am super pleased with Dr. Proft and the entire staff. HIGHLY recommend. My son also loves the arcade they have in the waiting room."

"Amazing staff and great environment! I personally went to Dr. Stevenson back in the day, and then I brought my first child here and was saddened to hear that Dr. Stevenson has just retired. But thank goodness he left it in great hands. Both Dr. Proft and Dr. Hanis are so kinda and seriously know how to make you feel like one of the family. I now have another child currently getting their braces done. I will not take my children anywhere else, and looked around a lot. The office staff especially Ms. Julie is so accommodating and helpful, she will go out of her way to help you start the process of braces. Just go and check it out, you won’t regret it. They have an awesome arcade inside the lobby too! Hope this is helpful."

"I cannot recommend Drs. Hanis and Proft enough! We have been through 8 rounds of braces spread across 6 kids and they have been fabulous with each case. We have two cleft-palate kids with complicated cases and Dr. Hanis has been able to move their teeth around to avoid additional surgeries. The staff is so kind and helpful as well. We even kept seeing Dr. Hanis after we moved to Tyler last year because I don’t trust anyone else with our kids’ teeth! "Our 10 year old son currently has braces from Hanis and Proft. Every visit I’m impressed with the staff; they are always very personable and great with the kids.The dental services are great, but the exceptional part of this place is the full-size, old school arcade games in the waiting room. Galaga, Asteroids, Ms. Pac-Man, Dig-Dug, Donkey Kong, Q-bert, etc etc. I feel like these are probably more exciting to the 40-50 year old parents that grew up playing them, like myself, but the kids have fun with them too. Hanis and Proft is probably the only medical appointment I’ll start a fight with my wife over if she tries to take him instead of letting me take him. The only downside to this place is when they call your kid back to get started and you are on stage 4 of Ms. Pac-Man with all your lives remaining.Oh, and they are pretty good at dentistry too, if that matters more to anyone."

"Had a fantastic experience having my daughters braces done here. When we removed the braces the dentist make some very slight cosmetic adjustments which i was nervous about but both the dentist and his assistant walked me through the process and it made me feel alot more comfortable. And it turned out great! I also appreciate they were not visibly annoyed with my questions as i am only trying to do whats best for my daughter.I got my invisalign done here, my daughters braces, and will return for my other daughter very soon.Also, I don't know who trains the staff here, but kudos!!!! They are beyond my expectations, and that says alot coming from me. I'm always just so impressed with the staff here. Keep up the great work!!!"

"I just finished up a stint of being an adult with braces, and I must say that the team at Hanis and Stevenson made it as pleasant as possible under the circumstances. The front office staff, including the incredibly kind and sweet Miss Mary J, always remembered me, my children, what was going on in my life at my last visit, etc, etc, etc. They even helped to entertain my little guy who came with me to all of my appointments from age 3 months to about one and half. My oldest son loves all of the video game machines he can play while he waits for me :)I have never had to wait more than 3 or 4 minutes for my appointment, which is incredibly important to me, but they have also never once rushed through my appointment. They have jumped through many hoops to work with me on a weird situation with my teeth and have stayed through lunch to help me on more than one occasion.The assistant (I may be using an incorrect job title here; I would normally just call her The Amazing Dana) that normally works on my mouth is fantastic. She is kind, personable, remembers every tiny detail about my dental situation, and is incredibly good at her job. I actually miss seeing her now that my braces are off!Dr. Hanis has worked with me from the start, and I would recommend him to anyone who is in the market for an orthodontist. He has done many, many things for me that I'm sure weren't technically covered in what I paid originally, but he has always been very accommodating. "This is my first experience with an orthodontist and I was blown away with the service and location. They just finished renovation of their office(2020) and it is really nice! The waiting room has free arcade games for kids and private rooms with massage chairs and TVs. The staff here has been the same for the 5 years and everyone is very attentive and professional. Goes without saying Docs are top notch and added bonus the two docs we worked with were extremely good looking :). Visits were always quick and we never waited more than 5 minutes for my daughter to be called back. If my two younger children need braces we will without a doubt be returning!"

We were so surprised by the equipment available, the analysis that was done foreseeing the future development of his face.Also, since he was halfway through his previous treament, Dr. Hanis did not force us to start all over (as I have heard from friends living in other states and seeing other clinics). He did change his braces for one with more control, but continued the treatment from where it was.He just have the braces removed and we are absolutely satisfied with the result. "My mom has always told me that "teeth are the pathway to great health" and I definitely agree! I had such a beautiful Hollywood smile when Dr. Stevenson did my braces as a teenage. But, in college, my new puppy got a hold of my retainers and ripped them to pieces. I was in NYC at the time and never got new ones... that was a huge mistake!!! After a few bad chips, some grinding, and a lot of movement in my teeth, I decided to get braces again in my 30s. Of course, I chose Hanis & Stevenson Orthodontics!!
