Have you seen Mary J around the Hanis Orthodontics office? She is our scheduling coordinator and loves sharing smiles! Read more about her below in her blog interview.
What city and state were you born in? What brought you to the Katy area?
I am a proud native born Texan and have lived in Texas all my life! I have only lived out of state 5 years my life! I was lucky to be transferred to Katy through my husband’s work.
Have you ever had braces or Invisalign®? If so, how old were you?
I had braces in high school. Let me just say, they are SO MUCH BETTER today. I had bands around every tooth and a headgear that went over my head. I had a bad hair day for years!
When you are not in the office, where can you be found?
I can be found at home. Yes, I am a home body. I also have been seen at HEB or Costco at least once a week. Of course, every chance I get, I am seeing my grandchildren!
Would you rather travel by plane, train, or automobile? If money were not an issue, where would you go?
I would rather travel by plane. That has not always been the case, but as time goes by, I like getting there fast! If money was not an issue, I would love to go to Hawaii for at least a week.
What is your favorite joke that always makes you smile?
It’s really a riddle. What get wetter as it dries? Think about it……. give up? A towel!

I LOVE my co-workers. I am so blessed to work with such wonderful ladies and the best doctors. I have worked in other wonderful offices in other towns, but nothing compares to this one. We have the BEST patients and such wonderful families. I look forward to seeing them when they come to our office. I get so excited to see them grow up and leave with beautiful smiles.
How would your best friend describe you in three words?
I had to ask. The answer was loving, loyal and witty. I was very flattered.
