Invisalign® FAQs
Invisalign is the perfect choice for patients who want to subtly adjust their smiles without brackets and wires. If you’re considering Invisalign or are already a patient, check out the FAQs below for answers to some common questions about Invisalign.
How does it work?
At Hanis and Proft Orthodontics, we will create a series of custom-made aligners to move your teeth little by little based on the treatment plan we prescribe. Each aligner adjusts your teeth little by little. You will replace each set of aligners every few weeks until your teeth reach their final positions.
How long does it take?
Treatment time ultimately depends on your orthodontic needs. We can assess your smile and provide an estimated treatment time. Typically, adult patients complete treatment in about 12 months.
When do I wear Invisalign?
You should wear your aligners for 20 – 22 hours each day. You can remove your aligners to eat, drunk, brush, and floss.
How do I take care of my aligners?
At Hanis and Proft Orthodontics, we recommend that you brush your aligners with a soft toothbrush and rinse them in lukewarm water.
What happens after treatment?
After treatment is complete, we may recommend that you wear a retainer to keep your teeth from returning to their original positions. Retainers will keep your teeth in place and reduce additional treatment costs.
How much does Invisalign cost?
The cost of Invisalign depends on your specific orthodontic needs and insurance plan. We can provide a cost estimate during your consultation.
How do I start?
The first step is to determine if Invisalign is the best option for you. In more severe cases, we may prescribe a different form of treatment to get you that perfect smile. Contact our office today to schedule your FREE consultation!
